Splendid art nouveau masterpiece on the shore of Lake Windermere which was built as the holiday retreat for Daniel Thwaites - a local lad made good - and doubtless designed for entertaining on a grand scale. Visit for the views and to soak up the opulence but perhaps not as a flagship outlet for the brewery. The beer is not the business here! However a pint is no more expensive than any pub in town so it's a car park par excellence - allowing for frequent weddings and private functions.
